What's New - The Missouri Clean Diesel Program

A Clean Diesel Program has been initiated in the state of Missouri. The department has received a grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to fund a cost share project to assist diesel vehicle and diesel equipment owner or operators located in the metropolitan areas of Springfield, Kansas City and St. Louis. If selected, participants will be reimbursed for the purchase of diesel emission control equipment, idle reduction equipment and Smartway® technology in an effort to reduce diesel emissions and increase fuel economy. What's New - 2008 Eight-Hour Ozone Nonattainment Boundary Designations
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recently reviewed the National Ambient Air Quality Standards for Ozone and proposed to strengthen them to a more protective level. The new ozone standard is an eight-hour average concentration of 75 parts per billion. The department has posted the Proposed 2008 Eight-Hour Ozone Nonattainment Boundaries for public comment.
